Captain K is a vibrant food and beverage company that runs two dining brands: En Sushi and Tengoku Yakiniku. With a team of 50 employees, it brings authentic Japanese flavours to the Singaporean community through delicious sushi and memorable Yakiniku (Japanese BBQ) experiences. Captain K provides a warm and welcoming atmosphere to make every visit enjoyable by pairing outstanding cuisine with excellent service.

The Challenges

Before Captain K implemented Info-Tech HRMS software, its clock-in process was inefficient and time-consuming. Employees had to go to the basement office to record their attendance, which was particularly inconvenient in a three-level establishment. This process disrupted workflow and took up valuable time, hindering employees from serving customers, negatively impacting operational efficiency.

Moreover, Captain K was using manual methods to manage payroll and leave, which took a lot of time and often led to mistakes. Keeping attendance records accurate was tough, as there were frequent mismatches between attendance and payroll data, making payroll processing even more difficult for Captain K’s HR team.

The Solution

Since April 2021, Captain K has been using Info-Tech's HRMS software to enhance its HR operations. With the mobile app, employees can easily record their attendance from their phones, so they no longer have to make a trip to the basement office each time to clock-in or out. This has saved everyone time and helps the customer-facing team to deliver excellent customer service.

Info-Tech's cloud-based HR software gives Captain K real-time access to attendance tracking, leave management, and payroll processing. Employee work hours and approved leaves are instantly reflected in the payroll system, reducing errors and time HR spends on managing payroll and attendance for F&B employees.

Employees are also able to access their payslips easily, submit leave requests, and get notified of leave approvals instantly. This streamlined process allows Captain K to enhance productivity and customer service while keeping employees informed about important HR details, resulting in a more engaged and effective workforce.
